485 app status if company closes or is bought out

Was wondering - and this might have been answered before on this forum -
If my company shuts down or is bought out - what effect does that have on the status of my 485 application.( Since this application is for a future job at a now non-existent company...)

Does the 180 day rule apply for such cases ?
