I am a citizen of India with a multiple entry H-1B visa that expires in Apr 2005. I have my 140 approved. I am filing my 485 now and will travel to India during the month of December. I am not applying for AP. Is that ok? In other words can I just travel as before with my H-1B visa and associated documents? Anything else I need to be aware of?

Sure, as long as you have a valid H1 visa in your passport, you can travel without AP. Keep a copy of your 797 approval as well as 485 if you get it in time.
