4.5 years with GC or 4.75 years before I can file for the Citizenship?

Hi,

My Greencard (employment based) date is September 5, 2000. I am going to apply for my Citizenship this year as it'll be 5 years (!!) by September 5, 2005.

I learned that I can file my paper before this 5 year anniversary date.
My question is can I file my petition 3 months before Sept. 5th or 6 months before Sept. 5th ?

If you have an INS web site URL that specifies this, please direct me to that page. Sorry, I can't seem to find whether it's 3 or 6 months before the anniversary date.

it is 90 or days or 3 months prior to 5 years.
