1st EAD - Expired Oct02
2nd EAD - Expired Oct03
3rd EAD - Expired July04
485 RFE in Jan04 - replied in Feb04 - they received it but nothing happened.
1st FP in Nov02 - No 2nd FP till date
AParole - 3rd renewal approved July04

When I got my 2nd EAD the expiration date was 1 year from the initial exipration date - although the renewal was approved 3 months before.
However, for my 3rd EAD the expiration date is 1 yr from the approval date - so iam loosing 3 months because of this.
Is this how it is or is it a mistake on INS part??? Should I contact them or just live with it and hope i get the GC before the next EAD renewal.

Also my wife's EAD is still pending - god knows why they don't process them all together.

Same thing happened to me for the 3rd EAD. I guess they are no more renewing EAD's back to back. I may be wrong.

Same thing happened to me too

My 2nd EAD expiration date is 9/05/2004. because my 3rd EAD was approved on July 20th 2004 my new expiration date on 3rd EAD is july 19 2005. May be now they want more money.

This issue was brought up before by some one and USCIS quoted the following.

So if you have mentioned this on your EAD application , they should have given you back to back to EAD dates without loosing the 3 months

02/13/2004: Post Dating of EAD Renewal Available Per USCIS HQ Permission

According to the Nebraska Service Center, the Service Centers were given a green light by the USCIS HQ in September 2003 to issue the "post-date" EAD so that people can obtain a full 12-month renewed card. Since the EAD holders are permitted to file EAD renewal up to 6 months in advance of the expiration of the current EAD, inasmuch as it is within this time frame, people may be able to apply for EAD extension early on so that they do not face a crisis of EAD renewal application being still pending at the time of the expiration of the current EAD. Accordingly, people may be able to request the EAD renewal period from the date of expiration of the current EAD until one year from the starting date. In the renewal application, people may remind the Service Center of November 5, 2003 NSC Q&A so that they can check with the USCIS HQ internal permission back in September 2003.

I don't think the reminder may have to do with back to back renewals since my 2nd EAD which was approved in Aug 2003 was renewed back to back. More over every one wants their EAD renewed back to back. No one can predict USCIS.
