3 year validity EADs and APs.

Friends,

Heard that recently EADs and APs are being issued up to 3 year validity, could any of you post as to what the trick is or if any additional fee/forms needs to be filled.

I live in California and my I-485 is being processed from Vermont Center, should I send the EADs and APs (both wife and self) to the Vermont Center address or the Chicago Lock Box Address.

They have been talking about making EAD last longer then one year for quite awhile. Nothing has come of it. I have heard nothing about AP being extended.
