3 year H1 ext based on approved i140

I have filed 3 years H1 ext based on my approved i140, can some one tell me how long it will take to hear from USCIS (My case went to CA). My H1 is set to be expired in DEC 2006 ? Should I expect result before that on my H1 application ?
