3 months in district??

One of the citizenship filing requirements is that you must live in the district or state in which you are applying for at least 3 months before applying.

How exactly is this "3 months" counted?

Must it be the very last 3 months right before the date I file N400 or can be accumulated 3 months?

Does it mean I have to physically live in the district/state for 3 months (much like the physical presence requirement) and I can not travel out of the district/state for one single day? Or this only means I need to maintain a residence, e.g. house, apt, etc. within the district?

Thanks

a friend of mine, a georgia resident, has its property right on the border of georgia and south carolina: the bathrom and the backyard are in south carolina and the rest of the property is in georgia.

The poor guy has no chance of filing in either state, does he? :)

I am sure the test is for you to live in the state, not physically in that state every single second - that would have been absurd and funny.

Trolls like JoeF must be NUKED with the Ayatollahs for following the Nuclear path and hating the present US Government.

I wonder why this country is giving this Fanatic Ayatollah named Joe F. a U.S. citizenship. Joe F. deserves a Iranian Citizenship.

Who is "both"? You may have noticed that I ignore certain people and that I suggest everybody else does, as well.

just because you were asked to use your logic on yourself?

Talk about double standard.
