Hello , I have a situation and I would like to know if someone can comment :
I will become eligible to apply for my US citizenship in December 2019
There is a requirement saying that you must reside within the district where you are submitting your application for 3 months prior to applying.
I've been out of the country for more than 3 years but have an approval of preserve residency N-472 to cover my absence under a missionary work on behalf of a registered religious institution in the USA
I resided in California for 7 straight years, and I would like to apply for naturalization in California.
I am not ready to be there 3 months yet as I am still under the commission to work out of the country, but would like to apply now if possible
I can demonstrate that I lived there 7 years and my sons are still there
Shall I still be able to submit my N-400 in January or do I have to be physically in the US for the 3 months prior to applying?
Thank you very much for your help
