Does any shed some light , if it possible to get 2nd iEAD , if 1st iEAD expires before actual renewal is rec'd.

I am also in the same situation. Applied for renewal in Jan 2003. Its not yet come. applied for I ead after 90 days and its gonna expire soon. Thinking of applying for renewal again. Can we get 2nd I ead ?

pls advise

Yes. But they do not issue a third, as far as I know.

If original application has still not been approved, please consider re-filing.

I guess in the space about 'whether you have applied for EAD before etc. you will have to put:

1. Applied MMDYY at CSC. Pending unadjudicated
2. Interim EAD applied for and approved at XYZ office, MMDDYY(approved) to MMDYY(expires)
3. Interim EAD applied for and approved at XYZ office, MMDDYY(approved) to MMDYY(expires)

Thanks Niladri30,
but what did u mean by
"Yes. But they do not issue a third, as far as I know.

If original application has still not been approved, please consider re-filing "

why would you get a second I ead if the original application was approved ?? and if 2nd I ead can be issued then why to re file ?

Thanks

Sorry, I wasn't being too clear, was I?

1. I read of cases where they approved upto 2 iEADs, and warned...no third. I do not know the law on this.

2. If original application still not approved when 2nd iEAD is in danger of expiring....

Regret inconvenience!

That was very kind of you niladri30. since I already have more than 90 days now,I think I will first try with the 2nd I ead (I guess it will also save me $120, right ?? )

otherwise I will go with E-file option .. do you think that's something worth the efforts ?

Suggestion:

1. Go for 2nd iEAD. (Save $120 is correct :))
2. While not 4 months to second iEAD expiration
wait
wend
3. File fresh EAD app. or e-file fresh EAD app.

Some pleople think e-file is better since you are at least assured of a proof of filing. (Yeah, I know encashed checks can be used... but they forget to put WAC numbers on the checks sometimes :()
