Hi all,

I went for fingerprinting in November 2002. Called (then) INS twice, they told me that my fingerprints went through okay. Now I got a second fingerprinting notice for no apparent reason. The online message has not changed, i.e., "We received your application on...". My wife hasn't got a second notice so far. Any idea what's going on?

Thanks.

2nd FP

Went to do my second fingerprinting today, the guy at the Support Centre called NSC, then told me I didn't have to do anything. Apparently I have two A#'s in the system, and NSC has reconciled them. The guy said the first set came through okay, so the second notice turned out to be an April Fool's from BCIS :D . Hope the guy's response wasn't ;)

I also went for my second finger printing today. They also told me the same thing (i got 2 'A#' in the system)
but they did my second finger printing too.
any clue ?

My experience is similar to yours. I got a second notice exactly same as first one.

Myself and my wife had finger prints on Oct-28-2002. My wife had a re-take on Nov-22-2002, since the first one was not clear. This re-take notice directly came from FBI and not from INS.

On Dec-05 we recieved a second notice from INS.
I relocated to CA on Dec-06.

On Dec-09-2002, I called FBI, they said, they cannot say whether FP was good or not but both have been transmitted to INS. Also, they gave me a hint that, unless the FP are good (clear) they will not transmit to INS.

Same day, I called INS NE. I was informed that FP for both me and my wife are good, do not need to worry about the second notice,Just ignore.

I am still worried because, there is no consistency in what information we get from IIO over phone and what in reality is happening.
Good luck to everybody, hope our waiting comes to an end.

Yes, the A# on my second FP notice is different from the one on the I-485 receipt. I guess if the issue comes up later, I will have to write an explanatory letter to NSC with a copy of my first fingerprinting receipt enclosed. I don't think they will pick up my case this year, so big yawn, albeit a nervous one:eek:
