Can anyone please tell me if INS updates there website when they sent 2nd fingerprinting notice to us that FP Notice has been sent on so and so date so that atleast we know that it is not lost in the mail.I still did not receive my 2nd FP notice.

I-485 ND:OCT 2nd, 2002
Ist FP: 22nd Nov, 2002
Ist, 2nd EADs

I do not think they update the status with FP sent. However, your lawyer (if you have one) should also get a copy and that should work. How do you know it is missed in mail? Are you just guessing?

INS updated my online status when they sent out the 2nd FP notice. Below is the online message for my 2nd FP.

On March 25, 2004, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

SKjun02,

I didn't get any RFE. I received FP notice a few days after the online message. The date on the FP notice is March 29th and the date that INS said it sent out the notice is March 25th. Do you think INS sent out both FP and RFE notice at the same time? It it is, I'm in trouble now.

vcorcl,

The message seems to be like that for a RFE. Did you get any RFE too?

Skjun02,
You were right. My lawyer called me this morning saying that my RFE documents (employment and marriage) due tomorrow. The RFE was issued on March but I didn't receive it. Apprently USCIS sent out 2nd FP and RFE notices at the same time and I only received the FP notice.
I have no idea why my lawyer only tell me before a day the dead line.
Thanks for your info.

I hope you were able to manage the RFE reply in such a short notice. Did you ask your lawyer why he dalayed it that much? These people care the least for the stuff that worries us the most.

I was able get all the RFE needed in half a day time. (Thanks goodness) I didn't get to talk to the lawyer directly. My company's Legal Services "outsource" the job to an outside law firm. It can be problem from company's Legal Services or outside lawyer. As long as I get to submit the RGE before deadline, I'll not bother them. Plus, the Legal Services was very helpful to perpare the RFE for me.

RFE goes to lawyer only. Unlike FP notice, no RFE copy comes to you. F*** your damn lawyer. It's too bad that he/she waited for three months to contact you. If he/she was worked properly for what he/she is paid for, you would have approved already. If I was you, I would make sure that he/she does not get paid $200 (deduct it, or ask your employer to deduct from the billing).

vcocrl,

pralay is right. RFE goes to the lawyer and it is his responsibility to inform you ASAP. You could have enquired about it after your case status changed to say "RFE issued". But, may be, you misinterpreted it for 2nd FP. Normally, FP notice does not lead to status update and it is not an additional evidence.

In any case, do not worry over it. It is OK as long as you are not affected. But, at the same time, you should at least reprimand your lawyer.

skjun02, Pralay,
Thank you for your advice. I did think the the status changed was for FP because I received FP notice a few days after it changed. The good news is my online status just updated saying that INS received m RFE. :)
Do you guys have any prediction on when I'll get approved?
