2nd Fingerprint Notice received today

I have received the 2nd fingerprint notice in the mail today. The online status check and AVM havent been updated.

EAC No: EAC-02-068-XXXXX
RD: 12/04/2001
ND: 12/20/2001
1st FP Date: 01/31/2002
2nd FP Date: 05/29/2003 as per FP Notice.

Is it okay to go for the FP before the appointment date?
Does anyone know how long it will take to get approved after the 2nd FP (Applied as a dependant application. Primary applicant approved in March 2002)?

Having the FP early

As in this case, has turned out to be a discomfort. Only comfort being that the primary applicant has already been approved and so not much to worry about.

I would think that your approval should happen real soon after the FP is done. Earlier, some of the INS centers used to allow FP even if you went earlier. No harm trying out.
 
Not to worry much

Ihave seen the people pre-pone the finger printing. As soon as you receive finger printing notice contact local office to take earliest date. This will ensure you get GC early.

Did your online message changed saying "FP Notice has been issued !!!"?

My FP date is also 31st Jan and waiting to receive 2nd FP notice or an approval.

Nope, the online status and AVM still have the same old message.

"On xxxxxxxxxxxxx, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made."

I guess the online status/AVM will change after the FP is over.

I went for first finger printing immediately after receiving the notice. The actual appointement date is one and half month after the date I actually got finger prints done. It really depends upon the officers at local INS office.
