We are very happy to say that finally we got our passports stamped. I came to USA for my Masters on F1 visa in Jul 1994. So almost it took 8 yrs for my GC after i landed in USA (though the actual process took only 1 yr 8 mon ).

Sure! We were there at about 5.00 am and there were about 5 people already by that time. Later on by 6.30 am or so lot of people joined the queue.
Stamping experience was very cool. We had to take Immgr. photographs ( 2 for each) along with the requested documents. The officer there did not ask any questions (nor aditional evidence documents). He was very polite and well receiving. By 7.30 am they let us into the bldg (2 nd floor) and we had to wait there until 8.00 am (in the lounge). It took 10 minutes or so for finsihing paperwork for each person. So by 8.25 am we were out of the bldg.
On the whole it was very pleasant experience. Nothing to worry at all.
Also in this whole process of my GC (from the day i started), my process went went very smooth. No RFEs at any stage. Of course, my paperwork is very very clean. So i believe that once if eveything is fine with your documents, GC process should be smooth. This is just my belief (of course, you SHOULD have luck also )
 
Can we go with courtesy copy?

Do you know if I can go with my courtesy copy for stamping?
