I have a couple of quick questions regarding the 20K H-1Bs. Assuming that the 20 K H-1s become available in the near future, can I use this to transfer from a cap-exempt job to a private industry job? I hold a PhD from a US school. Secondly, since I already hold a H-1 will I be able to start work after getting a receipt from USCIS, like in the case of H-1 extensions? Not have to wait for the actual approval to come through. Any thoughts??
