I am looking for the same answer. My RD is 02-28-01; FP 05-12-04. Also, I had to send my medical at the time I filed I-485. Did you do your medical yet? It might be still too early for us to receive RFI and RFE (what RFE stands for?).

Bonehead,

I didn't have to do medical with my 485, I don't quite remember but the instructions said that I would be asked for med exams once I get closer to the approval time.

It's kinda funny, my RD is Jun 2001, and I did second FP in Apr of 2004, you have an earlier RD but you got your second FP in May. Go figure !!!

RFE stands for Request For Evidence or something like that.

You can't live with it, you can't live without it.

Readers,

Our frustration and anguish is the result of bureaucratic apathy. Lets make life little pleasant, it would be nice if someone who has Receipt date of 2001 could share their experience of USCIS contact.

In some ways I am very happy to be alive and breathing, compare to what I was faced with before I got to the U.S.A, however like many others I am beset by the twisted ways of dysfucntional policy makers and inept Govt agencies.

Therefore, I have turned to you "The Forum Members", hoping you will write few words which would be a glimmer of hope.

Well, I guess we have to think positive, our situation is frustrating but we should still be happy for a simple fact; we got away from opressive governments and dictators and established legal status in The United States.
Ever since I applied for adjustment, I kept trying to find more info about my case, but calling Nebraska and actually getting someone to answer the phone was like winning the lottary jack pot. And even after they answer, it was like "waiting time 560-600 days". Every year the same. So that's pretty much my experience with USCIS.
Then just recently I've met a girl from my country who is also in asylum procedure and she told me about this forum. Now for two weeks only, I've got more info than in 4 years and 3 months. So "Class of 2001" keep the hope up, it is coming close, I think we will get mail/e-mail from USCIS in less than a year. Just hope this cap removal will work to all asylees advantage. :) :) :)
