I flew into this country from Ukraine under my mothers marriage visa back in Jan. 1997 when I was 8 years old. She was supposed to get married by April of 97, but unfortunately somethings crossed path's and she was unable to, leaving us with an expired Visa, and with no thought of returning back to Ukraine. Since then I have finished all grades, and graduated High School in 2006. As I get older, it's harder and harder for me to live in this country with out a Social Security, let alone a Green Card.

I do not have a Social Security, nor do I have a Passport, or any sort of government issued Identification. At this point of my life, in order to follow what I want to do in life, I need a drivers license, which I cannot seem to obtain without a SSN in the state of New York.

What are my options? what can I possibly do? I'm becoming truly miserable.

I have a similar situation with my girlfriend. She was brought here by her parents when she was 3 and received all of her education from the states. She knows no other way of living and is in the same position. We can not marry to resolve the situation because I have been stuck in a bitter divorce for the past 2 years.

You are not alone. Everyone tells us "get married or she goes home." I am relentlessly looking for answers but keep running into the same dead-ends that you have probably ran into. If I get answers that can help, I would be happy to share them with you. Please keep us in mind if you find answers too!

Best of luck to you. It's unfair for sure.
