Hello Gurus,

I am currently a sophomore college student working on my BS in Psychology. I am about to start LC with Perm with a sponsor. It will be a sales/customer service/clerical position since I have 2.5 years of experience in a similar job.

The problem is, my lawyer says since I haven't graduated and don't have my degree yet, I will be consider an "unskilled worker" which means years and years of wait for GC since so little numbers are available for this category. Plus it might trigger audits since it is very hard to prove that citizens won't be as qualified for the job.

Shouldn't 2 years experience in a similar position qualify me as a "skilled worker" ?

Any suggestions, advise and information on how to get around this issue would be appriciated.

Thanks.

Your lawyer is right. Wait till you complete your degree program before applying for LC. Even then you may get a query about your qualification with respect to your major.
