2 RFE cases approvals.

Folks,

My wife and child (RFE cases) were approved yesterday. RFE was received by BCIS on Mar 16/17 2004.

There is hope......
 
RD :- Aug 17, 2001
ND :- Sep 19, 2001
FP :- March, 2003
RFE Issued :- Feb 20, 2004
RFE Response Sent :- Mar 14, 2004
RFE Response Rcvd :- Mar 16, 2004
Approval :- March 22, 2004

Mine was approved on Feb 24, 2004 (Primary Applicant).

RFE was for marriage and birth certfiicate.

Don't know officer number.

was there a problem with name or birth place in birth certificate. How did you resolve the issue? appreciate if you could share your experience about birth certificate issue.

For my 485, as there was no birth certificate, gave an affidavit from my father, this was 2+ years before. wondering if I will have issue with that?

Nice to see quick turnaround of RFE cases - 6, 7 days after receiving the RFE response the cases were approved.

Typically birth certificate is required. If you don't have one, you need the following documents :-

1. A letter from local authority (in my case New Delhi) indicating that they made the search for your (subject) birth and could not find the records. If it is NOT in English, you need to get the translation done by authorized translator.

2. Two affadavits - one of them from NON PARENTS RELATIVES - indicating your birth knowledge, your birth date, your mother's name and your father's name. A lot of birth certficates don't have mother's name.

BUT IN OUR CASES :-

In my child's case, we had proper certificate and we supplied the same in 2001 and now once again.

We had marriage certificate and we supplied the exact same thing once again now

So......I don't think there was an issue with the document. I think they did not get it or lost it or asked again anyways... who knows...
