I see a lot of questions on 2 out of 5 year requirement. Myself and others are worried to know what are the option to keep PR status even living outside Canada for more than 3 years.

One option is to work for Canadian business?
Different websites and responses put different requirements which include earning in Canadian $ and paying taxes. Will it work if some get letter from Canadian part of the current employer stating his employment and relocating him in USA. Do you need to pay taxes in Canada?

Other is Humanitarian Ground? What it mean?

Again if we loose Canadian PR status and reapply will it be the same long queue or can be done very fast?

What about study in USA on PR status?

What about working for international organization as WHO in different countries and PR status?

Is it possible to create a thread to share users opinion and any feedback which our user has received from attorney to maintain PR status?

Your participation will be appreciated.

You have already given US GC 3 yrs since landing and it hasnt showed up ? Why do you think it will now. You may still be waiting for GC for next 3 yrs and still be in the same spot :)

Anyways here are some options.

1) Live in Windsor and get a job in Detroit or Live in Niagara Falls and get a job in Bufallo, or live in Surrey BC and work in Seattle.

2) Move wife and kids to Canada, you work in US and do back and forth once in 2 weeks or so.

3) Humanitarian reason (no guarantees here) may include a sick child undergoing treatment or completing an education which was started before you got PR Card.

4) Or else if your firm has office in Canada take a transfer and ask them to continue your GC process here.
