2 nd FP notice in less than a month

My ND is 25 June, 2003. Did my FP on 08/20/04 in Newark
The USCIS website is updated on 08/25 indicating that they have recd. my FP

Yesterday i recd. a another FP notice for 09/21/04 again in Newark.
My Lawyer has no idea what is happening.

Any ideas or theories?
 
FP is valid 15 months, so your FP from 8/20 was probably not taken well andthey want you to do it again - just a possibility.
 
It's yet another CIS's stupid mistake. They did the same last year also multiple FP notices for each individual. Some went ahead and gave them twice/thrice and others ignored them. (Later SCs acknowldged that it was a contractors' messup)

It's so bad on part of service centers to issue multiple FPs, ehile lot of others waiting to get a FP2.

Last year it happend to me same. Once I did my 1 st FP in May 2003, I got another one in JUNE. I went to INS on 2 nd time, I told them that I gave Finger prints last months..... Then she verified in the system that my FP1 is good and accepted. She did not took second one..... she wrote some conf number onmy 2 FP for record purpose.....
 
We had the same experience. We did our FP on May 23, 2003. They asked us to do it again on June 20, 2003. When we went there, they said it was a computer mistake. Our first was fine. So we didn't do the second one.

Well. I had the same situation for my first FP. But the second notice mentioed something like "If you have already given FP then discard this notice". So I discarded.

If you notice says something like that, then I think you can ignore it.
 
I had the same experience last year. Our fingerprintings were done and we got second notice. Our lawyer said to go there and not take any chances. We went and they said it is a mistake and did not even let me enter the building. I wasted $10 for a downtown parking and came back :mad:
 
Well, I too got Second FP Notice (Scheduled for Sept. 18, '04, Newark NJ) though I had my First FP done during Mar. '04. But, my lawer suggest me to go there and get it done again. My wife didn't get the second FP. Any suggestions??

same here!

I got a notice for FP2 last Wednesday. The appointment was for Thursday (8/26). So I went and did my FP and on Friday I got another FP2 notice for coming Friday (9/03).

I called the Customer Service center and the operator said I should go and get it done again unless the notice says "ignore this notice if you did FP in the last 70 days". Notice doesn't say that and my lawyer said I should go anyway. :(
 
I also checked my notice and it doesnot say to discard if i have done my FP. It does say, if my case is approved, then i can discard. I talked to my lawyer and he says, i should go there, just in case.

USCIS website is updated today with a new message that FP is received and they started the processing and wait for the decision

Called the 800 number and they have no idea what to do.
I think, i am going to go there and give another set of FP.
