183 days and PR card --- I talked to CI -here is the reply

All absences prior to the implementation of new law are and will be subject
to the old rules. New rules will apply only to periods of absences occurring
after new law is implemented.

REGARDING PR CARD:
For initial applicants landed after 28/06/02 card will be processed and probably
mailed out or have to picked up at the local CIC. I would think that it would take
about 90 days to process. PR card will not be required for re-entry to Canada until
January/2004, IMM 1000 can still be used up till that date. After that you will need
card to board flights to Canada

I am sorry I dont exactly understand this..pl. elaborate.

Today when I spoke to Imm. Officer. She said, after June 28 all cases will be under one rule irrespective of their date of Landing.

please explain.
