180 days rule

If you have worked more than 180 days in H4 , can u apply for H1b? What are the options ?

You are not suppose to work on H4 visa. You can apply H1b at any time provided some one sponsor you the visa and you are qualified for that.

I was not aware of my h4 status then. I was working on valid H1b . I had applied for H4 extension much before I got this H1b approval.but my H4 approval came later than my h1b approval. So by the latest action rule I am said than I am on h4 and not h1!!! What am I supposed to do now.

If you have H1b approval with you and you are working based on that H1b - then you are on H1b. You are not on H4.

You need to explicitly get H1b cancelled and get on H4 visa, when and if you intend to come on H4.

P.S. Where did you get "latest action rule"? What is it? Provide links to the same in this context.
