180 days rule,RD or ND?

Hi,Ciba and others:
Could you please tell me the 180 days is caculated from RD or ND? If RD then we donot need to care when CSC issue the I485 receipt.Is it right?

have different answers. I would like to read it at some
official web site if somebody can point us to one.

If you study the original text of the law, you\'ll find that the 180 days should start from the day the mail is delievered to INS(which is RD or even earlier).
My attorney also think it\'s RD.

receipt is correct but we really don\'t know under what circumstances they will allow you to change and what are the documents required from us and old, new company. As per the old law I 140 is company\'s property.

once again, there is no regualations so far, so nobody really
knows. Most immigration lawyers, however, think it will probably
be RD as the starting day. If it is RD, yes, jennifer, you don\'t
need to care when the receipt is issued.
