180 day rule

This has a reference to the discussion thread by preacher. I was going through www.murthy.com and my understanding is that as long as INS doesnt adjudicate I485 in the first 180 days, job can be switched (provided EAD is received, old employer doesnt withdraw the case, job is similar etc).

I think this is what happened in preachers case.

any comments?

Per Murthy

Unfortunately, this only represents Attr. Murthy\'s view. Attr. Shusterman has a complete opposite view (www.shusterman.com)! One can rely on Murthy\'s comments at his or her own risk. Until the final regulation is released, we can just speculate on how INS will handle this.

I have a similar question ....

I\'m on "Unpaid Leave Of Absence (ULOA)". My RD is Apr 01 and ND is
July 01. Can I change the job now before 180 days. If I change, Could
you please tell me, what are the implications I\'m going to face. I
have EAD and waiting for the finger printing. My employer (not my
lawyer) is saying that he won\'t cancel my GC and my EAD will be
active even if I change the job before 180 days. Is that true?
If it\'s not possible to change job before 180 days, is 180 days
rule from RD or ND?
Because I\'m not getting paid, I\'m applying for new jobs. I can
get the job at any time. If I get a job, what I have to do. Can I
join on my EAD or have to wait until 180 days.

My openion is if my employer is not canceling my GC means I\'m still with my employer even if I get a new job on my EAD. I mean, even it is before 180 days or after 180 days, I can do multiple jobs until my employer keeps my EAD active. Is my assumption true or not?

any advises are welcome.

thanks in advance.
