Has anybody changed the company after 180 days of filing for I-485. I got laid off recently, and more than 180 days has been passed filing of I-485. I would like to know what documents are being asked at the time of stamping. I had finger prints and RFE in july.01. Right now I am on EAD and looking for job.

Please help....

Radhe,

I am also looking for information on 180 days rule from somebody who has used it successfully.
I am alos looking for a good attorney, who has handled thiese kind of cases. At present, my GC is taken care of by my Co. attorney (and I do not trust them).

Any help guys....

We are supposed to inform INS, but the AC21 regulation does not
clearly state how. Most attorneys say that wait for INS to issue
RFE. INS may issue RFE anyway to make sure whether you\'are
working for the sponsor.

If you don\'t get RFE after FP then

you are clear, right?
As a matter of fact, if you have EAD and lose a job few weeks after
that and take a chance of getting or not getting an RFE, you don\'t care about 180 day rule. As long as the previous employer doesn\'t revoke your I-140 you are still through the process, am I right?
This 180 day rule is only something to be on the safe side in case you need to produce something to the INS and afraid of getting caught? Do you need to prove where you are working during passport stamping too?
