I already discussed my case on this forum.

LC for GC approved.

Filed 140/485/EAD on Oct 7 2004.

RFE(intent to deny) received in Jan 2004(reason: Company financial situation)

Finger printing for 485 completed on March 27th 2004.

Accepted response for RFE by INS on April 22 2004 but looks like they have not touched it yet.
My company did a very good job in submitting all the docs necessary to satisfy INS.

Current status 140/EAD on HOLD.

Sent inquiry through liasion to lift the HOLD on 140/EAD on June 24th 2004 by my lawyer(no response yet.)

Q1: How do I know that my HOLD is still there or lifted so that I can go to the INS office to get my EAD?.
Status msg reg. 485 still shows "On March 25, 2004, we mailed a notice requesting that you appear for fingerprint recording. The notice also gave the times and location where this processing could be done. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address"

Q2: Why is my 485 status msg not updated though I am completed w/ my fingerprinting, how should I make sure that it is updated?

Hi rcodavali,

I have completed my FP on April 7th and FBI has sent them back to the USCIS on the same day. Still the status message of my case did not change.
Incidentally the message says "On March 25 th... blaw ... blaw ..". (I also got the FP notice on March 15 th).
Applying for the EAD renewal now.

all the best.
lovy.
140 RD : 08/25/2003
485 RD : 10/03/2003
EAD/AP approved : 01/18/2004.

rcodavali,
After my lawyer sent enquiry through liasion system, she got a reply from CSC officer saying that "Please be advised that your case is with an Adjudicating Officer in line for adjudication. Please allow sufficient time for processing." Then a couple days later my AP got approved, next day EAD got approved, last-update for 140/485 also changed to the day they approve my AP. My guess is, if they change your LUD, probably they have lifted your case.
The thing I don't know is how long it takes CSC to reply my lawyer's enquiry. From my calculation, it's about 2-3 weeks.
Hope the information helps. Good luck!

UN, U have been a lot of help for me on this issue if u remember..anyway..my H1 expires on May2005 and If I dont get any reply reg. my 140 till Nov2004 I will apply for 7th yr. H1 ext.

My wife has a job but no EAD?so thats why we are desperate to get the EAD..but no luck.

Chongyip,
As I said my lawyer sent the inquiry thru liasion on June 24th, I dont know If he received any kind of response at all atleast he never contacted me after that though I tried many times.(Sometime I doubt if he sent the inquiry). But you are saying that in general they will respond(or lift the hold) in 2-3 wks of inquiry, So does this mean that my HOLD might have been lifted? Do u think its a good idea for me to give another shot at my Interim EAD at the Local SanJose Office.

BTW What is LUD?.

thanks a lot u guys.

rcodavali,
LUD=last update
I have no idea whether they have lifted your case or not. As UN stated, the only way you can find out is to go to local office and see if they will issue your wife an iEAD. If she is not working and she doesn't mind waiting in line for 6 hrs, it's worth a try. Last time I went, the officer was able to show me some computer printouts that my I140/485/AP/EAD were "ON HOLD". He told me that if the case is lifted, it will say resumed/lifted, etc....Unfortunately, local officers are unable to tell you why your case is still on hold, they will refer you to do status check (I guess you've already done it). Afterall, your lawyer should have some private channels to contact USCIS officers and investigated on your case.
