140 original copy

Hi,
My 140 got approved few months back. I did get using FOIA my labor and I140 approval copies from INS directly. Meanwhile, my employer gave me the photocopy of 140 received from INS to me.

When I asked about the original, he said that its a copy of the company, since they might need it for Audit purposes. Is it true?

He also stated that no one would even ask for 140 copy, all that you need is EAD.

Does anyone received original 140 that they received from INS. Do employers give the original 140 to employees or everyone keeps it for themselves for Audit purposes.

Please help me clarify this.

Yes.... I-140 belongs to the employer. My employer/attorney wouldn't even let me look at the I-140 filing/application - let alone the approval.

You might seek copies of 485 application/filing material since they are filed on your behalf, but not I-140.

Cheers

It is true. I-140 approval is the company's property. They may not even provide you the photocopy.

Its good to hear that I atleast received my photo copy.. So, there is none who has a original 140 approval copy in this forum?

Really surprising!!!

how long does it take to get the papers against FOIA?

WantGCSoon,

I should file G-639 form and send it to my local service center (CSC) right, if so, do we have to "Notarize" it says only at the top only "PA" request should be notarized.

Also, I think mail is the only option, no fax or anything ?

Thanx
