140 Approved - Did not recieved Approval Notice

Hi All
I found from online today that my I-140 was approved on 2/17/2005. When I checked with my employer they told they did not recieved the Approval Notice. But from the online message it shows as follows:

"This case has been approved. On February 17, 2005, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

Does it take this long to recieve the approval? The reciept was recieved in time when the application was mailed.

What can be done to check on the approval notice? As it is more than 3 weeks can I call to find out or wait for some more time?

It should not take more than 7 business days for either your attorny or your employer to get the approval notice in mail from USCIS.

In the rare case that the approval notice is not received, you can always call the USCIS hotline and ask them to re-send or something....it is a safe bet to wait for 30 calendar days before putting in the inquiry. 14-days is not really the accepted wait time....(even though the website status says so)

Here is the update on my I-140:

I had called TSC and enquired about the approval notice which I did not recieved. They verified theaddress and told they will send it again and asked me to call after 30days if I did not recieved it this time.

I had recieved a notice from TSC after a week and it states as:

If you did not recieve your approval notice you may file I824 for a duplicate copy of the approval notice.

My question is:
Do I need to file for duplicate notice. Currently TSC is processing I824 that are filed in 08/2004.
Will I need the I140 appoval notice at some point during my 485 processing?

1. I-140 is received by the petitioning employer or the attorney representing the employer. It is not received by the applicant at all.

2. You do not need the approval document per-se for your I-485 processing. All you need is approval of I-140 for the 485 processing.
