Hello,
My 140 is approved, i got the receipt notice from my employer after numerous e-mails and phone calls, but when i searched my case USCIS said it was approved some months ago. i asked my employer he says he has not recd the approval notice. they are saying they will try to get a duplicate notice. how long this duplicate notice take to get from the INS?

is there are way i can get the 140 approval notice through Freedom of information act, without my employer finding it?
does this 140 notice be obtained without the consent of my employer (since it is a company thing)?

my 485 cannot be filed because i cannot file without the approval notice that is what my lawyer says. any help will be appreciated. very urgent.

i am sick and tired of this whole GC thing. i would like to move on with my life. i don't want to spend my lifetime and career on litigation.
if this FOIA is quick and easy then i would like to pursue it or else i am willing to pack my bags and move on to india.

You can get a copy your 140 approval notice through FOIA. I've heard that this process takes about 6-8 weeks.

You don't need the 140 approval notice to file 485. You can file using the 140 receipt notice, only caveat is that your case must not be affected by retrogression.
