140 & 485

hello all,

Applied 140 and 485 concurrently on Jan04.
140 approved on March 22nd and got the EADs for both of us.
Currenly Im in H1 status working for the same company who filed my GC.
my wife is in H4 status. She got the SSN on Apr 04 and she is not working till now.
Both H1 and H4 (incl I94) expires by next year.

1) Can we travel with the current status till next year? (till current H1 and H4 expires?)
2) if she starts working with the EAD, Can she travel with the existing H4 till next year?
3) Since 140 is approved 3 months back, 485 is filed 6 months back, can I start working for a new company?
4) if not, how long do I need to wait to work for a new compnay?

please advise.

ANS: You can travel on current status, but you should have valid visa to enter.
2) if she starts working with the EAD, Can she travel with the existing H4 till next year?
ANS: If your wife starts working using EAD, she can enter only with AP
3) Since 140 is approved 3 months back, 485 is filed 6 months back, can I start working for a new company?
ANS: Yeah I think you can work for new company after 6 months of filing 485
