140 485 and marriage ?

I have a labour certificate clearance and my company attorney wants me to go ahead and file for 140 and 485 together, the issue is that i am still single and plan to get married later in the year, but at the same time i dont want to loose any time in the GC processing. is there a way out ? n I can I file for both 140 and 485 and then include my spouse's name later on when i get married...I am sure many would have gone through this before, what is the right approach ?

Hi! I know very little about this issue. But from what I know you can marry at any time during the AOS process, unless the I-485 is approved. So yes you can add her at any time, but the risck is that if your green card application is approved, you're stuck. Now, taking a look at these lagging processing times, theoretically you would be fine, but you may never know.

Get married anytime next year is fine. The backlog is not going away anytime soon!

So don't lose any more time, apply for 140 and 485 ASAP!
