I and my wife live in Georgia. We submitted I-131 together (2nd one) this year. One case was transferred to Atlanta, GA which is somewhat understandable. Another was transferred to Los Angels, CA!!!!!! What is going on?

Probably USCIS is re-assigning workload across all their processing centers. As long as you get your requested stuff, why do you care?

Does it say that it has been transferred for them to schedule and conduct an interview? I guess, not. It may have said, "to speed up the process," or "for a written decision to be taken," or something similar to that.

Current Status:

On June 21, 2004, we transferred your I131 APPLICATION FOR BCIS TRAVEL
DOCUMENT to an office in LOS ANGELES, CA for processing. That office
will notify you when they take action on your case. You should receive a
notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local
office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800)
375-5283, to receive information about local office processing times.

Surprise!

My wife's Advance Parole was approved by Atlanta office last week. It was transferred to Los Angeles, CA last June. Guess it was finally transferred back to (TSC) Atlanta.

BTW, mine was transferred to Atlanta office and approved in Oct, 2004.
