Guys please don't get angry for putting this question on this forum... sorry!

I just emailed the US embassy in my country asking them if they do DCF for my wife... they said no they don't, but they asked to file for K (NIV)visa while I am waiting for I-130 approved. Anyone experience with this and how long does the K visa take? Sorry again for putting this on this forum...

You'll get more replies over in the Family Based GC Forum....

From what I've heard, an I-129F/K-3 visa takes approximately 6-9 months, or pretty much the same length of time as DS-230 consular processing. The advantage of the DS-230 is that once your wife arrives in the US she is granted an immediate GC. If she comes on a K-3, you still have the expense and wait associated with I-485.
