Folks,
Just to let you know that my I485 case is final approved. Here are some details:
1. I485 submitted to VSC on 12/31/2001 for both my wife (primary) and myself (beneficiarary).
2. 1st FP 06/2002
3. 2nd EAD 12/2002
4. RFE for Employment, Pay Stub, etc on 06/2003. My wife's company lawyer screwed it, didn't send the stuff back until end of 08/2003. (Part of our fault too. We gave him the stuff the same day REF was received. We assumed he would send them out right away)
5. 2FP for my wife on 11/2003. No 2nd FP notice for me.
6. 3rd EAD on 12/2003 online. When I was doing my FP for EAD, I also did 2nd FP for I485, even though I never received a notice
7.02/2004 USCIS sent name check request to FBI for my case
8. wife's I485 approved on 04/2004
9. Send email/fax/voice mail to FBI for name check results numerious times, no reply
10. Called USCIS for 3rd request of more information about my case. Got a letter from USCIS stated that "According to our computer system, your case is still pending". (Why I didn't know that?!)
11 Contacted congress man on 10/2004. USCIS replied to congressman office that my case is pending for security check. USCIS refused the congress man's request to expedite my case. Citing that there were so many cases like mine.
12. 4th EAD on 10/2004
13. FBI name check completed on 10/28/2005
14. My I485 approved on 02/14/2005 (Valentine's day -
For those of 2001/2002 fellows, I wish you all the best luck. This has been a very annoying process for me, and most likely for you folks too. I would like to say that keep you spirit up, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
