1099 and H1B

I'm working for company A that is holding my H1B. I got a project from company B. Company B is willinng to pay me directly or through company A. However, for some reason, I don't want to get company A involved in this process and would like to get checks from compnay B directly. However compnay B will give me a 1099 form at the end of the year. Can I accept a 1099 from a different source on while on H1b.

H1 restricts employment!

Company B will need to file a H1 for you, amd mention its a concurrent H1. You can only be employed with INS authorization and at present only company A is authorized to employ you.
