10 years green card want to sponsor green card for my wife

Hello,
I just applied for citizenship 2 months ago. I dont know if I should apply green card for my wife which is an international student now, or wait after I have my citizenship and do it. I heard that it will take way longer and more complicated if I submit the sponsor document while having green card than citizenship. Thank you!

You can file now to get her application started/get as early a priority date as possible, and then when you become a citizen you can upgrade the petition. You don’t need the sponsor documents until it’s interview time, but anyway there is no difference between the financial sponsoring or anything else green card vs USC other than the time it takes to process is longer for green card. There is really no reason to wait.
