Dear Mr. Khanna: Please help. I came to India to get my new approved I797A stamped (at Delhi Embassy) for a new H1B visa on June 17th. However, at the Embassy, they said that I would need to submit a 10-point fingerprinting for FBI check. The consular officer in question said that it takes three to four weeks for the verification to come back from DC. My question is what should I do if it gets delayed. I am on a work-related trip and desperately need to get back. I was originally scheduled to return on July 10 and had to postpone my trip. But I will lose my job, if I get stuck here indefinitely. Is there anything I can do get get the process expedited. Regards, Reshmi.
