1 year before OPT?

Hi, i am a full time undergrad and plan to graduate May 2007. I was recently on another visa and sent in to an F1 change of status. my reciept notice was for August 1st 2006 and am still waiting for my F1 to be granted (which should be any time soon)
To get an OPT, a student must have been a full time student on F1 for at least one academic year. will i qualify for this scenario? since i will not recieve my F1 for at least another week or two, but sent my application before august (before the semester started)

I believe it's 9 months of full time student before you are eligible for OPT...status doesn't matter. So, you should qualify.
