1 year anniversary

I am one of those unfortunate August filers. In a few days time I will be finishing 1 year anniversary and still no sign of any movement on the case. My colleague who applied 6 days before me on 07/31, got approved in first week of April. 4 months delay for just 6 days!!!! I think August/Sept/Oct files are most unfortunate as the average wait period for them is more than 12 months. And most of the June/July filers are luckiest.

This waiting is horrible ... especially in this economy where we don't know when will we get laid off. Now I started thinking the GC is not worth this much wait and tension.

Right! This damn immigration journey does not worth the efforts and mental torture at all.

So I highly suggest my friends who are still sharping their heads and try to get into this country to think twice and twice again!! People from developing country should NOT rush out blindly!!

As a rule of thum, if one has a good spot or some potential in its own country, it is a mistake to immigrate to here. Be aware folks.
Sometimes, an "opportunity" is actually a trap!!

Take a look what we actually get by strugggling and working so hard for 10 years!!
We took those damn TOEFL, GRE. we struggled for extreme financial hardship at the first few years. then we are deeply trapped into this 'wonderful' American slavery game - GC which is designed to fit vacant American jobs and protect strictly American interest!! Then we have to change the way we speak!! Even after 11 years hard working, we got Ph.D, we got GC, we make $100k. Then what?? After monthly mortgage and car payment, how much left!! How many friends we have here? How far we really can go!!

Anyway, life is irreversable and everyone has it own reason for something.

take care, buddies.

I agree Sept and Oct took longest time to start.

As for if it is worth or not.. I would like to underscore that this country is based on Capital system (its not a a socialist country).

Anything (including humans ) that is in short supply.. is cheered for and highly asked for. When demand goes down.. so does the value of commodity ( us). One should be aware of this basic fact and continuity of this as along as USA remains a capitalist country.

I've seen many messages on this board where people greet others by saying "enjoy your freedom". Thats a wrong phrase. What freedom that they are talking about ? what part of that freedom in not available in India? ( In fact india is more fere than US).

However.. quality of life is much better here.. and thats why most of us are working our ass out to get GC and live here.
