From my own experience and numerous posts on this forum it appears to me that 1-800-375-5283 reps are constantly giving wrong/misleading information to us. I understand that this might be a lack of training or supervision issue but we need to be prepared. Lets share our experience here so we know what to expect from them and to which extent we can rely on their information.
My story: called them just once to inquiry about my I-485 status. They said everything was fine, security checks done etc (how sweet indeed) ... but the priority date was not current. They stated my priority date was the date when I filed I-140/I-485. I argued first that my PD was LC filing date but then decided not to waste my time, wished them a good day and hung up.
