1-55 temporary stamp

We ve immigrated to USA (Nj) since Feb 2005 (Me,My father, and my mother).at may we got the 1-55 temporary stamp, and still watining for the GC, which we heared that it may take around 6 monthes and up to some years to arrive.
Now our temp stamp expires in june 2006.and i have some concerns i hope you can help me with
1-If we wanted to go back home for 3 monthes and come back to US on july 2006, does this mean that its over and i lost the visa?
2-If the answer is yes, can we renew the stamp before the time of renual is up, for example renew at september 2005 instead of june 2006, (just to overcome expiry while abroad)
3-Can the Stamp be renwed from the Embassy in our home country?

Do not leave the country until you get new stamp on your passport. Now how to get it? I am not sure. I would suggest you to visit your local DO.

You should inquire about the physical green card. May be you will get it by that time. If you have expired stamp, you won't have any problem entering US(they might send you to secondary inspection & verify that you are permanent resident), however if you are from county like India, where there is Emigration Check you will get hard time & may be not allowed to board for US.
