07/31/2003: Frustrating News of I-485 Processing Times at Nebraska Service Center

According to the AILA, the EB-485 processing will experience further slow-down until the end of FY 2003 (09/30/2003) because of the shift of resources to the Religious Worker Special Immigration expedites and refugee 485 cases. Probably, this slow-down may apply in other Service Centers as well as we approach the end of the FY. People should remember that the immigration agency has been undertaking the annual file audit, during which the entire files are frozen. The employment-based I-485 cases have already been moving literally in snail-pace or at standstill. When it comes to I-485 processing, there does not seem to be any sign of light at the end of tunnel.

You can find this on www.immigration-law.com

wait wait wait and wait ....

How slow it can be

NSC is already slow - running 5-10 mile per hour. Sometime just standstill 0 mile per hour. If it slows down further then it has to go backward - revoke already approved GC approvals. NSC sucks. Look at VSC.

Will switch to counselar save time

my 485 nd is dec 2002
will a switch to counselar pro save time, a general question for pork chop

fruitless 2003, then

NSC won't be productive either in early FY 2004(starting from Oct,2003) holiday season will be coming and they will have a good time themselves, what about us???

how about us ???

Davli, here is some recipe for you :

Just have fun, get busy with your work and life, take vacations -- enjoy life and don't worry or think about it.

Then, one day, in the broadday light, you'll get the approval letter from NSC.

shalom !
:)

Well looks like two more months only (August & September), instead of seeing some 5-10 approvals, we will see 1 -2 approvals. However, it just get more fustrating, I don't even think about my approval comming for another year and half.

Feels like everyone wants to curb foreign nationals from working in this country. First H1 cap to 65,000 from 195,000, then H1 elimination bill, then L1 under scrutiny, and now they are trying to make it really hard and slow for EB 485s. Thus making it really hard for "non-americans" to work in this country!

Just my theory, and don't have anything better to do...

Oh well, have a nice weekend to you all !

Guys,

Will there be a slowdown between oct - Jan during the holiday season or there will be a halt to the operations at the service centers? I am planning to vistit Home in Dec. If my AP renewal does not get approved before dec., I am planning to get an Emergency AP early December.

..Applied my AP renewal a month ago and status says it takes around 400 days! May be along with GC ??!!

Thx.
