Hi,

My wife and I just got our Passport stamped. Our 485 was approved on July 06 2004.


Many Many thanks to all for you support during this painfull 485 journey. I pray that all 2001 and 2002 485 pending applicants get there approval soon.

One thing this 485 process made me learn is don't wait for anything.

Can anybody share his international travel experience without plastic card?

Just one more thing guys, the day you go for stamping don't forget to pick up the yellow pass from security. I had to go back and stay in queue twice to get it.
 
Congrats. It's nice to see your approval. When did you have your FP2 ? Did you get any RFE ? please provide the details ?

No I never got any RFE's. MY 2FP was done in 03/09/2004. My wife's 2nd FP's were rejected by FBI because she had Mehndi on her hands. So she got another notice to do it in 04/08/2004.
I contacted Senator twice for my case and got the answer that they were processing 02/15/2004 but I had an excuse that my case information was wrong on USCIS web site.
The day my 3rd EAD our information changed to RFE received and processing resumed while I never had any RFE and I never replied.

I was not very hopeful about timely approval of my case because I am from the most troubled part of India and we didn't have our birth certificates. It was not possible for us to even get them. On the top of it one of the affidavits said that we can't birth certificate because of terrorism in the state.
Even if I am not Muslim (not that I have anything against them even though we suffered a lot) my last name sounds like Muslim so my case was definitely going to be scrutinized but I am thankfull to got that I got through.

In a sense waiting for GC taught me a lot and may be helped me to grow mature and not to worry too much about things. It is not the GC process that kills a person it is the wait for it. At the end I will say leave it up to the time to decide things and you just do your duty. Every Happiness will bring sorrow also at some point of time. So my request to all of you is to stop worrying about GC, do your duty and time will decide things.
