If I receive my EAD before the I485 is approved, can I start work? If I485 is denied, do I have to stop working immediately until I refile?

Well, My records have been placed online on 07/07/05 for the I130 and I765, but since then nothing for I485. This really makes me worried, because it is over a month now that it has been received.
