well...
well..if you are not buying house because of GC then i think you should. Apart from that i think you should enjoy the freedom and take the job you love.
as far as my concur filing goes, my employer sucks, they have this policy of not filing 140 and 485 together :( I know that sucks...
well...
My interpretation of the text on murthy.com is that only those who were eligible to file when the original JUL visa bulletin was issued would be eligible for the AUG 17th or before filing. It would be interesting story for older PD LCs like 2001/2 , not sure what will happen to...
I-140
You are not alone mate, my i-140 was filed in Jan 2007 and it is still pending at nsc. I saw a post from our fellow suferer, his was filed in DEC 2006 and still pending... I am scared of upgrading it to premium processing as there is a post about REF on PP case (couple of posts above...

i140/i485 without lc copy
GreenWays, YES, it is possible to file for I-140/I-485 without original LC copy. But it is not possible to file premium processing without original copy.
Since you can file I485 now, do you have all the documents/medical forms ready? if not get started as soon...
permium processing
I didn't see a LUD change since mine was filed in Jan and indeed i am contemplating on converting
i-140 to PP specially now that i485 is being filed next week. My employeer is a big fish so I am not
too worried about 140 but I was advised by one of my good friend to get the...
yours sincerely
Yours_sincerely, The picture isn't too rosy for you but do not lose heart yet. I did check the i-140 guidelines again, looks like it will depend upon the interpetation of the approver. The guidelines sure looked confusing to me..
What does your lawyer say ?
PD is not yours
Cowboy, The priority date of certified labor belongs to labor (employer) not you, but approved I-140 means you have right to use that PD even if you leave the employer (of course you have to have copy of approved I-140).
Secondly, if the PD is relatively new and you have...
only employee..
As long as your employer has filed tax returns for last three years and they are currently capable of paying you what uscis calls market rate wages, there should be no issue. Your educational evaluation is different story though :)
Senior Engineer ---> Director
Sbydbec, I think the job title matters as much as the job function matched on your labor. If you switch, you HAVE to file new labor but you can substitute the old labor PD while filing new I-140 (provided your old employer has not revoked your approved I-140)...
online status check
sanswa,
Get the I-140 file receipt number that uscis issues from your lawyer/employer then you can check the status online at https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/caseStatusSearchDisplay.do
I-140 approval?
I am in the same boat, not sure if we should be worried - mine is pending since Jan 2007. The processing date on official site still shows AUG 2006 processing :(
Congratulations!
Congratulations to all the certified one's !! especially those with 2001/2002 PD's. As the saying goes there is light at the end of the tunnel!
But now regular I140 approval take 6 months :(
very unfortunate
njgc2001, so sorry to hear the unfortunate news that too after you waited for so long. But there is nothing you can do at this point except to wait for the denial letter, the letter will have the exact reason for denial which you/lawyer can appeal.
Do not loose heart yet...
U.S. Evaluation for I-140
Does anybody know what is "U.S. Evaluation" for filing I-140, my lawyer tells me she is waiting on "U.S. Evaluation" for filing my I-140.
