Got visa after 1 month
After sending the DS-157 form and the answers to the questions in pink slip, my father got his passport after 1 month. He got the visa stamped for 1 year. Hope this gives relief to people who are in the same boat.
My parents had an appointment at Chennai consulate yesterday for visitor visa. At the end of the interview my dad was asked to provide DS 157 form which he did not carry with him as he is 57 years old. So the consular officer handed over a DS 157 form and a pink slip and asked him to email a...
I guess it depends on how you are crossing over (road/walk). I went using the foot bridge and there is no one either on the US side or on the Mexico side that asks for any kind of documentation. My I-94 was taken out by the consular officer. From what I remember about seeing vehicle driving into...
My lawyer received the following RFE.
--a list of all I-140 Petitions filed with the Service Center for the years 2006 and 2007. The list should include the following; receipt number, name & date of birth of the Beneficiary, proffered wages for each Beneficiary, a copy of each beneficiary's...
I had gone last year for my 7th year H1B/H4 extension and posted my experience in this forum. When you mentioned do not go to Old consulate & mention new consulate - Do you have any idea from when it got moved to the new location?

This forum helped me a lot during my research before the stamping. I am posting my experience as it may be of help to some others.
I went for my stamping during the 1st week of May, accompanied by my wife, and a friend. All of us were revalidation candidates.
As mentioned in a few other...
Mexico visa
This is a redundant question but could you find out if your friend had taken a mexican visa or if he got a permit at the crossing? I have read many posts on the forum that say we do not need a visa. I am fishing for any new changes in the policy.
Thanks.
I have an appointment scheduled in Tijuana in May for H1 revalidation. All documents are in great shape, so I am not concerned about that. 2 years ago (2005), on the way back from India, we had a layover in Dubai for 14 hours during which we were provided with hotel accommodation by Emirates. So...
I changed employers 4 months ago, and have not yet had a chance to get the new H1 stamped. Is it required to get the new visa stamping. The existing H1 stamping in my passport (for the previous employer) is valid for 1 more year.
I am planning on a Carribean cruise. Can I re-enter the US with...

I have an appointment on Oct 18th for my H1B visa petition at the Chennai consulate. Due to some constraints at work, I will not be able to arrive in India by 18th. The next appointment date available is in late November. However, I have to fly back to USA by November 15th. Under these...
My H1B was approved in february 04. Before that I was on F1/OPT. My employer continued paying me on 1099 till June. I am going to India in October and have to get my H1 stamped. I will only have 4 pay stubs on W2. Will this be a problem?? What are the chances of being asked to show all the pay...

Hi,
I applied for my H1B last week. I was previously on F1. My petition was recieved by USCIS on friday. What are the chances of my application being accepted.
Does an acknowledgement from USCIS on getting my petition mean that I am inside the cap??
Any replies are appreciated
Thanx
