Today we received the approval for my wife's H4 extension. Only issue is the valid date given was from the date we applied which was May 11th 2007 to May 18th 2008,but the actual expiry date was Feb 16th 2007. Would there be any problem when my wife goes for visa stamping?

I want to file my EAD & AP myself as my attorney did file only 485 on July 30th. Some one pls clarify whether the option of using Proof of delivery (from recent FAQ #2) applies to ppl filed after July 17th? Thanks Indy

My attorney says she has filed our case last week. She is not sending the proof of delivery. Hoping that, atleast she will keep it safe. I heard that, the date printed on the actual generated receipt notice will be the date when the case has been entered in to the system but not the actual date...

Thanks mikeliu88 for sharing your experience. It gives us some hope. Was your wife staying in US while the extension was pending. How long did they take to approve the extension?

Its been more than 2 months and still pending. Is your H4 already expired or about to expire?

USCIS will email the notice to your attorney. My attorney fwd'ed the same copy to me. Once your file is reached they will send a receipt notice and also whenever the status of the application changes, they will update it online and also send a notice to attorney.

I think, If USCIS has accepted your file before 2nd of July, You are good. Because I've requested for premium on June 26th, got upgraded on June 27th and approved on June 29th. If you have got the notice,then chill. Good Luck. AJ

I just received my son's US passport with Indian visa. Now as the 485 dates have become current how do we handle the situation. Should I send her India for visa intvw and take a chance..wat if she gets stuck there and the dates retrograde? Or Take chance and wait here for the I-539...
