There is no fair on this application, only lucky. I know somebody got approved very soon with I140 and I485 together and do not need interview. Many sitll need to wait. Anyway at the end everybody can get it.

As long as your I485 is not approved you need to apply EAD Don't have any Hope to CIS, you don't know when it will happen although may it be approved tomorrow . You have to apply EAD 4-5 month before it expired.
