they send it back to you and you have to resubmit I never knew about the fingerprint issue either. The Chicago office returned my 485 application and I had to resubmit it with the extra $50 bucks for the fingerprints (no cash or checks, they don't trust you...money orders or bank checks only.)...- merlion
