A friend of mine (who just filed 485 EB) asked his attorney to also file his Advance Parole. When he got his receipt it says the processing time is 400 days ???!!!  Does this make any sense ? Could his attorney have screwed up the application ? To those of you who...

    BCIS Bullshit excuses/reasons

Also, the fact that I-485 processing has been backlogged for a long time is UNDENIABLE. BCIS has used numerous of reasons to explain it. These were all the excuses they've used before : Reorg. from INS to BCIS processing freeze due to problem with FBI additional security check...

    Malis

You should not have even talked to your attorney to begin with. As the previous users have indicated that your attorney is just trying to squeeze some bucks out of you. Well, what's done is done ; to err is human Go directly to your boss or HR and ask for a letter that suggests you're...

positive news from my attorney today

I just got off the phone with my attorney today and he said he's been getting tons of RFE (mostly employment) on 485 applications filed early 2002 and he added that it's normally followed with approval about 3-4 weeks after BCIS receives the RFE responses. His last comment was "The dam...

    AC-21 Contradiction

Folks, Last time I posted a question in this forum for Porkchop, our expert buddy. I was asking about a friend of mine who changed job before his I-140 got approved. After the approval of his I-140 he went ahead to file his 485 and needless to say at that time he's already with his new...

Those of you who are married beware of this common mistake

The thread "I-94 and 485" just reminded me of this issue. I have a friend who was on H-1B. When he changed job he filed for a new H-1 and he did not include his wife's name on his application. So, when he got his new H-1 approved he got a new I-94 and his wife did not. He was under the...

FYI : Hope this won't affect us

I ran into someone who's been following asylum cases (as much as we've been following 485-EBs) yesterday. He said that the maneuver by BCIS to trim the backlog of the asylum applications last fiscal year resulted in the denial of 60 % of asylum cases. However, those asylum applicants did not...

This could be a good news

A friend of mine applied for asylum last year and recently got scheduled for an interview. That process took less than a year. I know this has nothing to do with 485-EB but at least we know that BCIS is doing very well in reducing asylum backlog once they allocated more resources (officers...

485 Slowdown due to security software

I just got off the phone with my attorney today asking about my wife's AP and I sneaked in my frustration of this long 485 waiting into the conversation. He said that this slowdown is mainly due to the security software that they implemented a while back. But he's still seeing approvals and...

The Greenland Report - don't rely on it too much !

My friend (ND Dec'01) got his green card approved a month ago and got his plastic card 3 weeks after approval but until now the BCIS online status message still unchanged. So, there's no need to waste time to run the Greenland script.
